Our Story

In the Spring of 2012, Jamie Laing alongside his role on award-winning reality TV series, Made in Chelsea, launched Candy Kittens, an innovative, gourmet sweet range that set out to focus on quality. Using the best possible natural ingredients, and authentic flavours in beautiful packaging, the brand hasn’t looked back since.

“As I grew up, I found that the sweets I liked didn’t grow up with me.”

The confectionary challengers identified there was a big gap in the market for a grown-up, exciting sweet. At one end of the spectrum were cartoon-clad bags for kids, with the alternative being dull, boiled sweets, often found in a grandparents car.
This was the perfect space for Candy Kittens.

Our range

“Just like the fashion brands that we draw inspiration from, at Candy Kittens we want to constantly develop and move forward,” Ed Williams, MD, explains, “as a result of that, we’re constantly innovating and pushing the boundaries to take on the big guys in the category.”

Once upon a time...

Founded in 2012 by Made In Chelsea’s Jamie Laing and Ed Williams, Candy Kittens had the ambition to make candy cool…

2013

The Birth of the Candy Van!

We spent two weeks renovating an old ice cream van to take our early sweets out on the road!

2014

Our First Store

Our first products hit the shelf in 2014, when we launched with Selfridges. It didn’t take too long before other retailers picked up on us though!

2014

The Sweet Life!

By 2015 we had branched out, and we were stocked in Waitrose, Topshop, Harvey Nichols, Fenwicks, Ocado and some independent retailers too.

2016

Hello Kitty

This was our first partnership flavour with Hello Kitty. Our limited edition run of Sour Apple was a sweet success!

2017

The re-Treat

The re-Treat was our London Fashion week pop-up sweet shop! It saw Candy Kittens take over a space in the middle of London’s fashionable Covent Garden.

2017

The New Candy Van!

The Candy Van was great, but the new Candy Van is better! We upgraded to an electric vehicle, a sweet step to being more sustainable.

2018

Introducing our gelatine free range

At ISM in Cologne, we announced that we’re going to be fully gelatine free! This meant that our sweets can be enjoyed by as many people as possible (and still taste amazing!)
