What made you create a yummy, healthy recipe based Instagram? When did you launch it?

I created my Instagram page roughly 3 years ago. I had such a big love of plant based foods and wanted to share it with everyone and prove that it’s a lot more than just fruit and salad! There’s so many wonderful ways to use plant foods to make delicious and even indulgent dishes.

How long have you been plant based for?

I have always preferred plant foods over animal products right from a young age and the older I got the less meat I would eat and more plants I would add. I always felt much more energised and alive eating plant foods and after educating myself on the benefits it would have to my health and my digestion it was a very natural and easy transition for me.

What was your reason for choosing to go plant based?

I went plant based because I have a huge passion for whole plant foods and using them to create delicious meals and treats. It felt liberating to stop eating meat as I never enjoyed the taste or texture. This way of eating has changed my life. My skin dermatitis cleared completely, my IBS symptoms have gone and I look and feel so much better in myself.

Do you have a most popular recipe?

My smoothies and nice creams are by far my most popular recipes! However people do love and make my cookies and cakes all the time and send me pictures of their creations which I love to see.

What’s happening in the future for papaya sunshine?

As lucky as I am to be in this position i am very happy to just continue with my Instagram and keep it as a hobby for now. I love what I do and in my spare time I’m straight in the kitchen creating new ideas.

Where do you get all your lifestyle items from for your photographs?

My props in my photographs come from all over the place! Many from my nana, some from local stores, some from abroad and lots from vintage and charity shops. I love old and unique pieces. I’m always on the endless search for those perfect ceramic and wooden bowls!
