Elon Musk’s Candy Company

  • By Max Maharajh
  • 8th May 2018

Elon Musk, the eccentric billionaire, has announced that he wants to start a candy company. Max has spent the whole bank holiday thinking about it.

When a man who recently put his own car (which had a model of his own car in it) into space tweets about launching his own candy company, the business world gets very excited. Everyone’s been talking about what this means as a business, and what this means for Elon Musk, but no one’s talking about the important stuff:

What type of candy?

It’s been about around 48 hours since Musk’s announced this possible candy business, and all I’ve done is think about what they might taste like. I’ve split Musk’s confectionery into 3 different areas.

1) Space Sweets

We’ve seen space inspired sweets before, from Milky Way through to Starbursts, there’s so much in the world of ‘cosmic’ sweets. Personally, I don’t think it’s Elon’s way to just re-purpose something else. What if the car that he’s put in space is actually on a mission to retrieve some kind of alien space candy that’s made with intergalactic sugar…

2) Travel Sweets

For a man who’s keen on a bit of long-distance travel, perhaps Elon Musk will develop a type of travel sweet? Personally speaking, our sweets go pretty well in suitcases, handbags, backpacks, pockets, perhaps even on spaceships. Elon, if you’re reading this, why don’t you give us a shout and let’s chat about partnering up for a new flavour? We’ve been thinking about a tangy new flavour that would taste great in a Tesla.

3) Cryptocandy

We’ve seen the tweet, now what does it mean? Would a cryptocandy be a physical thing? Perhaps it’s like a chocolate bar that someone at work tells you they’ve invested in, and it’s going to make them millions? Perhaps it’s the kind of candy you have to keep hold of, and not accidentally eat, to make any money out of it. Where’s the fun in that?

We may not have put a bag of Candy Kittens into space (yet), but we know how to make great gourmet sweets. If you’re ever interested in chatting, Elon, give us a call?
