Music from reggae kings UB40, Bob Marley and more.
Every fortnight, we bring you 3 tracks that the Candy Kittens office is loving based on a current theme. To celebrate the launch of our new, vegan treat, Sweet Pineapple, we have picked three songs that will transport you to tropics. From reggae, Bob Marley to the ultimate cheese-tastic pop anthem by Peter Andre, these songs will have you thinking you’re sitting by the beach, sippin’ a margarita.
Bob Marley – Three Little Birds
When you’re working in gloomy England, you need to keep telling yourself that ‘every little thing is gonna be alright’ and that’s what Three Little Birds will have you doing. With a fantastic sing-a-long melody and a radio-friendly arrangement, nothing can touch the feel-good factor in this classic, reggae track.
Peter Andre – Mysterious Girl
This mid-90s classic comes from the period of time when reggae and dancehall had invaded the pop charts. Including Caribbean rapper Bubbler Ranx, this cult classic holds its own against other in the genre and is a firm favourite for karaoke nights. We might not like to admit it, but this is our ultimate guilty pleasure.
UB40 – Red, red wine
Reggae chart veterans, UB40’s first chart topper in 1983, red, red wine is a laid-back listen. Originally written by Neil Diamond, this track talks about the merits of wine helping you forget all about your problems. Sounds like a perfect listen for a Friday afternoon, don’t you think?
