What makes our sweets so special?

We’re determined to make our brand more loveable. Gourmet sweets should be enjoyed by everyone, so we’ve made our new Candy Kittens recipe with absolutely no gelatine! Our sweet new recipe is for everyone.

Previously, our Sweet Pineapple and Sweet Peach flavours were made with a fully vegan recipe, but now you can get four vegan treats: Wild Strawberry, Blueberry Bliss, Peach Fizz and Sour Watermelon.

The sweet new recipe has been carefully created to make our sweets taste better than ever before. Our gourmet vegan sweets mean that everyone can enjoy Candy Kittens.

In today’s day and age, it’s important for us to make sure that the widest possible audience can enjoy Candy Kittens. When we started the brand back in 2012 we wanted to make a sweet that everyone could have, which is why we focussed on making sure our recipe was totally gluten free.

Being free from gluten means that our gourmet sweets can be enjoyed by those with gluten intolerances, as well as coeliacs. Coeliac disease affects 1 in 100 people, and it’s estimated that 8.5 Million Brits now opt for a “gluten free” lifestyle. We think it’s just plain unfair that there are not enough enjoyable treats for the growing number of gluten free people! By creating a gluten free recipe when making our sweets, we’ve created a treat that you, your family and friends can all enjoy!

Do you ever look at the back of a packet and start to worry that there’s a lot of chemicals and words on there that you don’t understand? We’re really proud of having no artificial colours or flavours in our new sweets. Our new recipe is made with fruit juice and fruit and plant concentrates, such as carrot, apple, lemon, and even sweet potatoes! We’re proud to have no artificial flavours in our gourmet sweets.

We’re proud to now be using even more real fruit juice in our new recipe. Across the flavours, we’ve increased each recipe to at least 10% fruit juice.

Eton Mess contains 6% strawberry juice and 4% coconut water now, and we think it tastes even messier than ever! Our new peach sweets, Peach Fizz, now contain 6% peach juice and 4% coconut water, which you can really taste. Blueberry Bliss has 10% blueberry juice in the new recipe, which makes them the juiciest gourmet sweet around. One of our classic sweets, Sour Watermelon, has increased the amount of watermelon juice to 10%, giving it a very refreshing tropical taste. Wild Strawberry has 6% strawberry juice and 4% coconut water too, with a flavour that’s bound to drive you wild for more.

In our gelatine free range, we also created one vegetarian sweet, Eton Mess. Whilst developing the recipe for Eton Mess we realised that it needed to be waxed in some way.

To ensure that our Eton Mess sweets are the best possible sweet, we’ve chosen to coat them in Beeswax, which is the only animal-derived product in our range now. We’re working hard to make this vegan too!
