So here at CKHQ we've decided to take you all on a trip down memory lane with us, and it's going to happen right here on our blogs EVERY Thursday! We will be chatting to the founders, Jamie Laing and Ed Williams about the growth and development of the Candy Kittens brand!

Stay tuned WEEKLY for unknown facts, some hilarious stories and an insight into Candy Kittens!

Please tell us all! What was Candy Kitten's first pop-up like?

Jamie: In the summer of 2012 we had our first ever Candy Kittens pop-up shop, the same year as the London Olympics! Our spot was 261 Kings Road, Chelsea, London. Initially our pop-up was only meant to be for one week, but it was so popular it actually ended up lasting about 4 weeks - which surprised everyone, it completely blew us away!

Ed: The night before our pop-up opened myself and Jamie were doing last minute touches to the shop. We locked up and on the way home we bumped into two girls, who were going to camp outside the shop before it's opening the next day! We found it almost quite funny and couldn't imagine people camping outside for our pop-up opening!

When we came came back the following morning and saw people queuing down the street we were beyond shocked!

Jamie: We actually didn't have any sweets for our first pop-up. We spent about 2 years perfecting our sweet, so initially we only sold Candy Kittens merch! There were T-shirts, Keyrings, Lanyards, Hoodies, Canvas Bags, Caps. Essentially everything but sweets - pretty crazy right! I'm sure you can't name many brands that have launched and done pop-ups without any product!

For example...

Ed: We did around 25 to 30 pop-ups within 2 years after that initial launch! We loved doing them, they were always good fun and so exciting to meet the people that love the brand. As well as Kings Road our other pop-up locations included: Cambridge, Cardiff, Liverpool and Westfield.

Jamie: If you never got a chance to attend any of our pop-ups and get your hands on some merch, you can get some here! We're also doing a give-away on our stories every Thursday to give some of you lucky guys out there a chance to win some of our old merch! Stay tuned to our Instagram account and stories for more info!

And finally, a little note from us here at CKHQ if you would like a little light (and free) amusement, check these pictures out 🤪
