This Week We're Loving...
by Maddy de Winter 3rd September, 2019
So here at CKHQ we can't JUST be addicted to sweets so we have to find other ways to channel our sweet tooth and addictive personalities elsewhere. Here is what we're loving at CKHQ this week.
Ed, our Managing Director: "I loved 'Once upon a time in Hollywood' - totally weird, cool and gory in equal measure". Here's a little bit about the film:
Quentin Tarantino (The Hateful Eight, Pulp Fiction) brings us his ninth film and his first to be based on true events. Taking a look at a changing Hollywood in the late ‘60s, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is written in full Tarantino style, weaving multiple storylines and offering humour, drama, and thrills.
Actor Rick Dalton and his stunt double, Cliff Booth, head back to Hollywood to try and make names for themselves. But the last thing they expect is a grisly murder on their doorstep… Starring Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, and Leonardo DiCaprio, director Quentin Tarantino returns for his ninth film to explore late 1960s Hollywood.
Cam, our Operations Executive: "I went to 10 Heddon Street on Friday - a new restaurant residency that does awesome pasta (it is only open at that site until the end of the month!)"
10 Heddon Street is a restaurant residency focusing on hand-made pastas and in-house butchery / charcuterie by Chris Leach (Pitt Cue Soho, Sager + Wilde, Kitty Fisher’s) and David Carter (SMOKESTAK). Visit their website here!
flatmate and I are currently watching season 3 of Glow and obsessed with the 80s "fashion".
Glow is a series on Netflix that looks at the personal and professional lives of a group of women who perform for a wrestling organisation in Los Angeles during the 1980s. Watch Here!
Emily, Field Sales: "Glow Bar, Mortimer Street - cafe & infrared sauna all focused towards making your skin healthy 🧖♀️".

Glow Bar is a one-stop shop for self care and socialising with infrared saunas, a superfood cafe and natural beauty boutique. Visit their website!
Georgina, our Marketing Manager: "I went to Circolo Popolare on Friday and it completely lived up to the hype! I recommend the Truffle pasta (obvs) and the Orlando Blue pizza: Fior di latte, gorgonzola, peach, speck, honey, lavender - weird but it totally worked.
Circolo Popolare is an oversized dining room, opulently decorated with 20,000 bottles serving OTT Sicilian fare & drinks. Visit their website here!
Brad, our Designer: "I went to Borough Market on Saturday and had a Duck Confit sandwich from Le Marche du Quartier. Would probably say it was the best sandwich I've ever had 🦆".
Le Marché du Quartier is a family business rooted in the south west of France, they source fine French food and wine from small-scale French suppliers. Specialities include goose fat and garlic, confit and cassoulet (available to eat hot at the Market or to take away in tins), poulet de bresse chickens and a wide variety of French cheese. Find out a bit more about them here!
Amy, our Marketing Executive: "This week I'm loving 'A Confession' on ITV
Based on a real-life story, Jeff Pope’s new ITV drama A Confession introduces us to Detective Superintendent Steve Fulcher (Martin Freeman) and his mission to catch a killer after the disappearance of 22-year-old Sian O’Callaghan in 2011. Catch up here!
