THIS WEEK WE’RE LOVING…

By Lucy Legret

After a well deserved Christmas break, the Candy Kittens team are back and we are excited to share with you what we’ve been loving so far in the new year! Stay tuned to find out what we have been up to…

Emily, our Operations Executive: I’ve been hooked on Netflix, watching the new series of YOU.

I was obsessed with the first season of YOU on Netflix, and I certainly feel the same way about season two. Based on a novel written by Caroline Kepnes, the series follows a character Joe, who seemingly stalks any woman that he falls in love with. The first series left everyone on a tense cliff hanger, so I was extremely excited when I was able to continue watching the story unfold in the new season, finishing all ten episodes in one week... now that’s impressive!

Georgina, our Marketing Manager

Last week I went to a restaurant near St Ives called Gurnard’s Head and had one of the BEST meals I’ve ever had! Not to mention that the views were absolutely stunning. Looking out at the picturesque, coastal landscape, I was able to enjoy a delicious, hearty roast dinner with my family, followed by a lovely walk along the seafront.

Emma, our Commercial Executive: I'm loving the BBC series 'The Trial of Christine Keeler'

Over the Christmas break, I spent a lot of time with my family watching movies and a variety of different programmes on TV. A particular series that I’ve been enjoying is called The Trail of Christine Keeler, a new BBC One drama that looks into the affair with married government minister John Profumo. I love watching TV dramas which are based on true stories, so it was fascinating to understand more about Christine’s real life! If you would like to catch up, the show is on a Sunday night, BBC One at 9pm.

Kitty, our Social Media Executive: I’m loving the new Wagamama watermelon ‘tuna’ steak.

January is usually the best time of the year for trying out new vegan food, and with a variety of restaurants releasing new options on their menus, I thought that it's time I tried what’s on offer. I’m sure you may have heard of Greggs vegan steak bake and KFC’s new vegan burger, but when I heard that Wagamamas had released a watermelon ‘tuna’ steak, I knew that I had to try this first! When I ordered the watermelon steak this weekend I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of flavour it had. While the combination sounds strange at first, it was really delicious!
